My five year old grandson caught the biggest brown trout in a family that fishes frequently. My sixteen year old grandson shot a 52lb11oz coyote last week, the biggest taken recently in that area of Arizona. I have never taken a 26" brown nor any coyote over 50lbs -- in 50 years!!!

Either we taught them well or I need to take lessons from the kids.

You taught them well...It took my oldest son 15 years to come close to my 36 lb 10 oz Chinook. His was 35 lb 14 oz. We both used 12 lb test main line and 6 lb test leader on a Steelhead rig (6 oz rod). That's two hours battling in a mountain river...

Did you get any photos of them? This grandpa does...My grand daughter when she was 15 (she's 16 now).

Rats. It won't edit...The first fish is a small salmon and the second one is a steelhead. Both won't break any records, but she still did good...

The fish were caught out of the Skykomish and the honker is somewhere above Lake Chelan.

When is it not windy and rainy up there. I spent almost every hunting and steelheading day in rain, wind. ice and/or snow when I was living in Washington. The only time I had sunshine was trout fishing on the Snoqualmie... Very Happy

Great photos Bushy. Thanks for posting them. When I see the younger ones getting more in touch with nature and less with the cyberworld, it gives me a boost.

Bushy, you got a million, and many more, reasons to to be proud mate...that's the number of "Bushy" genes you have passed on to a beautiful little lady. I'd be equally as proud if she was my grand daughter mate.

I intend starting to teach my grand kids shortly...assuming their parents agree...to handle a firearm with safety then how to shoot. Hunting comes a little further down the track...but not too much further.

As Handloader says..."When I see the younger ones getting more in touch with nature and less with the cyberworld, it gives me a boost." ... I couldn't agree more with this statement.

Cheers, Vince
