The prices have gone up but not enough to make me hate myself enough to do that.
Most of the steel case stuff is Berdan primed with two flash holes so you cannot punch out the primer like a boxer primed brass case. You have to pry the primers out with a hand tool. Plus, much of the steel case stuff has a laquer or polymer coating that will like to stick in a sizing die if not lubed to the gills.
Conventional wisdom says that steel cases do not have enough flex in the metal to re-form in a sizer die. Although - I read recently where someone re-loaded .45 ACP steel case successfully. In an emergency - you probably could. But for the extra work, headache and risk..... just buy another case of the stuff from Cheaper Than Dirt and sell the steel cases for scrap.
