Hornady Hand Primer

Hurt my wrist some time ago and could not use my Lee Hand Primer, because of the way the lever was located, so ordered Hornady Hand Primer and got the biggest suprise in my life. Primed about 20 Cases and got rid of it and ordered a RCBS. The RCBS is much better. I like a hand primer, because can feel the Primer, when it bottoms out. Has anyone had any experience with Hornady Hand Primer or was it me? I know Hornady makes
good equipment, but was disappointed with this one.

DKA...The only priming system I have ever used is the Lee Auto Prime II. A press mounted stand alone priming die system. I have used this one for the last 23 years and if it ever wears out I'll buy another one. And YES...You CAN feel the primers as they are being seated.

I use and like the lee hand primer but don't care for the fact that it takes seperate shell holders, I got a RCBS too like it also. If somebody else is driving on long trips I sit and prime, or when nothing good on t.v. I can sit in the kitchen and talk and prime, I guess I like the portability.

That's the nice thing about the Auto Prime II. It uses the same shell holders as the lee and RCBS dies come with...I don't need a special set of shell holders for it...

When we having coffee? I should be going to springfield in a few days. Need new boots. Not sure though when we will be going. I AM almost down to my socks though... Very Happy

Very interesting set up I can't say I have never seen one. By what I see every thing is done on top of the press??

And inside of the die. I have, yet, set a primer off using this.

I researched it online and I like what I see. I use the RCBS hand primer now and have one of the Lee hand primers that my brother seems to have forgotten to bring back. They both work ok but the changing of the seat is some what of a pain. I'll be on the lookout for one of these. Thanks Bushy!

Yeh...Know the feeling. Have a $300.00 order in at Midway right now. Just waiting for the 140 grain SJHP Remington bullets to come in. Tempted to have them send what they have and reorder the bullets.

Have an Auto Prime II also, and like it very much, but still use the Hand Primer from time to time. Want to get those primers right. Also have primer attachments on both presses, but can't feel the seat there.

I "feel" the primers seat using my Auto Prime II and have never had a problem knowing when I have screwed up with it.

I was in Cabella's web site and looking in the bargain cave found they have IMR powders on clearance for about $20.00 a pound. The problem is the hazardous shipping.

I like the priming function of my LEE Pro 1000. Does it on the ram's downstroke and the feel is great, much to my suprise. I can progressively prime and flare in one stroke then charge the case with a funnel through the die for my really precisely weighed loads (like H110 stuff etc).

Mr. Bushmaster- where did you got those little bullet (I think that's what's in there) cubby/drawer thingy's? Them's pretty slick. Cool

Why...Wally-World, of course. Where else would you find such fine chinese products.

Actually they work real good considering. They are stackable too. What? $10.00 apiece and the drawers will hold 500 bullets each.
