Ours is due to open October 19th and I am looking forward to it. First time I will actually get to go out deer hunting for a few years. This weekedn is our Thanksgiving weekend up here and we will be checking the zero on our MZ's. It is snowing today and we have two inches on the ground. Smile

Our ML deer season started 3rd week in Sept. I shot a nice 3x3 mule deer 20 minutes into it.

Its getting hard to find places to hunt around here due to development... and populations still continue to decline. A single buck tag has around 1.8x as many people applying as there are tags available. And out of those that draw, hunter success is around 60%... so being picky about what to shoot has a good chance of you ending the season unsuccessful.

We have a 3 week muzzleloader season and you just buy a tag. Hardly any of the locals even own a muzzleloader and wait for the rifle season. We are fortunate as we can take a buck in each of the three seasons (archery, mz and rifle) plus there are extra antlerless tags in some zones as well.

We have a nine day hunt that starts Oct 17 and ends Oct 25. What ever you kill goes toward your 4 deer for all hunts.

Our ML season doesn't start until after the rifle season.

I suppose now is probably not a good time to remind you guys that in our State we don't have seasons or tags for deer...they are feral and are fair game 12 months / 52 weeks / 365 days of the year.

Hard to take, although I haven't been able to get out and have at the buggers for quite some time...bloody recession!!!

Cheers, Vince
