I may have lost out on the Nesika rifle deal, but I found a revolver I've been wanting for a long time. It's a 6" blued S&W Model 57 Classic in .41 mag. I put a deposit on it and have 3 months to pay it off. I'd love to collect their whole line of Classic revolvers.

I found it on Bud's. They get several Classics each week and they go fast. This last week they had a 4" and 6.5" mod. 27, a mod 25, a mod. 29 in 4" and 6.5", a mod. 48 and several 586 revolvers. Last I looked they still had a mod. 10, 4" 586, a 4" mod. 48 and a 6.5" mod. 48. If you hesitate at all, they're gone. Sometimes Bud's even comes out with a gun that has been discontinued and somehow they find one for sale. I recently bought a NIB Taurus mod. 651 .357 in S.S. with a shrouded hammer that had been discontinued for several years.

Finally brought home the Model 57! Not sure what bullets I want to try in it. I already have primers, powder, some cases and even a speed loader for it. I bought a box of ammo so I have something to which I can compare my handloads.

Might I recommend Remington semi-jackeded hollow points in the 200 to 210 grain range using H110. Start low and work up.

ByTheWay...Beautiful revolver. You lucky dog, you... Very Happy

Looks like you did just fine. Is your revolver pinned and recessed? I have been reloading for the .41 magnum for years and have settled on IMR4227 and my own cast bullets. Enjoy. All the best...

No it's not, I think S&W stopped both practices in 1982.

Love the look of S&W revolvers

If I had one I would trade it straight across for a Ruger RedHawk. Smile
