We visited MIL at the transitional Nursing Homes yesterday for her 99th birthday. A good time was had by all, with plenty of nibbles etc…of course I over indulged…and we had our granddaughter’s 10th birthday party once we got home (same day as MIL). Suffice to say I’m all partied out. Most importantly everybody had a good time with many family members going to the Nursing Home. In sceptical about the possibility of another birthday for MIL though.

Now for a nice relaxing morning before I have to go to the Sleep Centre this afternoon to be all wired up for a Sleep Test to determine if I have Sleep Apnea.

after a few Ales,I reckon we all do mate...but by hoki we sleep well LOL.

lots of my workmates are on the cepap machines at night,most of them really rate the results...fatigue is a huge problem when your driving 50 tons of machinery on state highways...

99 is an impressive age! My wife's grandmother is 98. Her brain is finally starting to slip a bit.

In the topic of apnea and CPAP, I have been on CPAP for over 20 years now, I definitely benefit from it. I find easier to concentrate if I have good night sleep.

MIL is in her early nineties, still drives a manual car (refused to ever get an auto)
Recently renewed her driver's license and asked for a 10-year renewal
Bloke behind the counter started objecting and she stood her ground and said I want it for 10 years

I reckon I’m looking down the barrel of a CPAP which I’ve no doubt SWMBO will appreciate given the way I snore…my hunting buddy was concerned that I’d inhale my tent one night.

As an aside, we had Great Grandchild number five born on Sunday afternoon. I can’t believe it, I’m only 74 and have five Great Grandkids…and MIL has Great Great Grandkids…WOW

Now all I gotta do is loose around 35kg (77lb) in weight and I’ll be a happy man, that plus get some recoil therapy.

I hear you on the weight thing...walking around the bush this morning I realised its why I have fallen a few times in last few years....my feet are trying to hold more weight than they used to do and the amount of grip on mother earth is still only a size 10 boot...
