I have been using ''patch out '' in my cleaning posses . this last time I used patch-out and was OK with what it did . then for no particular reason I also used M-Pro7 I was then surprised to see how much more blue came out on the patch.

Interesting. I've had great luck with Wipe-out as well as Sweets 7.62. I've not heard of M-Pro7... I might have to take a look into it.

One of the Hornady podcasts on cleaning said they'd settled on Bore Tech. They do a LOT of testing, and therefore a lot of cleaning. I haven't tried it yet.

About a week ago I stumbled across an interesting comparison video for copper removal products for firearms. This is worth a view:

M-Pro 7 is also marketed as Hoppes Elite.

I’ve been using Hoppes with what I believe to be good success. I used to use Sweets 7.62 but it is no longer being made due to family issues and I’ve run out. I’ve sometimes put a patch through soaked in Ed’s Red after using Hoppes and I found that the patch came out black as if there was heaps of carbon left behind.

Methinks I might have to do some research to ascertain which cleaner is the better.

EDIT After watching the video in Dallan’s post, I must admit my eyes have been opened. The one thing I noted is it appears Sweets 7.62 is being manufactured again now in NZ. I’m going to have to keep an eye out for some.
