Hi, I just started reloading for a CZ American in 6.5 Swede. I know you can load these heavy and am currently 1 grain over max in the Speer book and am getting some great groups with no pressure signs. Does anyone know how to figure velocity for over max groups? Also I would be interested if anyone else is doing this and what loads they are using.

WAredneck

I don't know if you can really get an accurate velocity estimate just because some barrels are faster/slower than others. Also there are times where more powder may not make any difference.

I would see if you could borrow someone's chrony and find out what it is really doing.

The next time you're at a range see if you can shoot at the bench of someone who has one set up. You're not going to be certain until you shoot with a chronograph. If you're below max then you probably can risk it, but otherwise no. Best wishes.

Better still, when you are at the range, ask the owner of the cronograph to fire the rifle himself. That way you are more likely to get the velocity check done. Most folks do not allow someone else to shoot over their cronograph in fear of having a newby blow the cronograph screens to kingdom come.

Hello !
I think if you go to www.norma.cc you will find hot loads using Norma MRP.
I have use it for many years when i hunt moose.
