I was reloading some .270 and was spilling a little of the IMR 4350 when ever I went to put it in the case using my nifty scoop/funnel thingy after weighing the powder.

Each time there would be that long extruded powder somewhere near the scale.

After loading 10 rounds and seating the bullet at the right length plus crimping the round I decided to do a little investigation into why the powder is acting like Mexican Jumping Beans. Confused

Found the PROBLEM. Shocked

Now if there was just someway I could plug up that little hole in the bottom of the cases I would no longer have gunpowder all over my bench! Mad

Don't ever seat a primer under a powder charge..........pull your bullets and start over...............life is to short, don't make it shorter....don't think your the only one, who has done that,, every now and then it happens to me.......and I catch it when I flip my rounds bullet tip down going into the MTM box.... Very Happy

LOL I charged 20 cases once to then notice I had forgotten to put in the primers first. Dumped all the powder back out carefully and started over.

I've always been very careful since then to do things 1 step at a time, repetition = safety.

Seems like under another Reloading Thread about accessories, some one said there should be a vacuum cleaner handy (me) for situations that arise like mentioned here.

No matter how careful I am, I still get powder in unprimed shotgun shells. My MEC 9000G on occasion srews up in the priming stage and results in a mess that has to be cleaned up. Most of the time it's my fault, but, on occasion, I can blame it on the MEC. It's maddening when it happens Mad
Keep it coming...

This sounds familiar, I believe that I did the same thing once or twice over the years. I hate when that happens and I hate having to pull all the bullets from the cases, but it is better then the alternative.
