I hate to ask dumb questions, but how long has this site been in existance?

The site first opened in the Jan of 2000. Since then we have had 2 major overhauls of the site, the later happening this past January. With this latest overhaul, we now have a "website login", which is good for all areas. Previously we only required login's to access the message board. This new system is better as its more secure and actually gives me more control over things in general. Its also nice for the user as it doesnt require a bazillion cookies to store off user into for each section of the board.

Since January it seems we are getting alot of traffic... tons more than before. We average around 40,000 page views a month and its increasing. I regret that previous user registration couldnt have been ported over to this new software but new and previous members are still showing up daily.

We average around 4-5 new members a day registering, but what you dont see is that we actually get closer to 8-10 people "attempting" to register... most of these failing to get the confirmation email, or they get it and forget to click the link within 24 hours. I also help 1 or 2 people each day with manual registration if they cant get it to happen on their own.

Slow but sure, its growing. I expect alot of traffic when the ported Reloading Database goes live soon (it's 90% done, just need to add error checking to the user submitted fields). It was one of the most popular areas in the "old website". Hopefully within the next 3 days it will be done and ready for testing.

I'm just glad people find the site useful and have fun with it.

Jan of 2000, you say??? Geeze, how time flies!
I sort'a miss the old days but we is growing. It seems like only yesterday we were few and bunnywabbit hunting was the main topic. BUT... most will find this is a truly a unique place... it's just like one big family here, a fine bunch.
For the new folks... Pull up a chair and set a spell, we'll throw another log on the fire.
