Ok so they showed this movie on the History Channel the other day (Love that TV channel) and while the movie was so-so, what kept me glued through it as it was entirely filmed in my old hunting / stomping grounds!
Scene after Scene I was thinking "Wow I shot a deer right there, a peasant next to that tree... caught a fish right where the ambulance was overturned" etc etc. The blockaid where the german line was that they ran with the jeep... RIGHT THERE my friend got his jeep stuck in highschool and it took hours with come-a-longs to get it out LOL.
The entire area is being developed currently which disappoints me to no end, but I believe I will buy the film just to have documentation of what it looked like back when I hunted it. I spent a great part of my youth up that canyon.
Kindof funny to see the movie and recognize to the pine needle the area in which it was filmed.

I have the same experience watching "The Mountain Men" with Charlton Heston. It was filmed around the Tetons and it always gives me a laugh to see the locations and know they have only moved a few hundred yards when in the movie they moved miles away. Or to recognize the places they filmed right next to a paved highway.
