Sir
I applaud your program and your efforts to make it available for free. I have purchased the RSI program and use it primarily to generate the attached yardage for my mil dot scopes.

I was unable to figure out, if it was possible to do the same calculations with your current version.

The issue is this: If my bullet impacts the target exactly X " high at 100 yards, at what distance does it cross the line of sight? This information used with the mill dots, allows me to generate a card to carry with me, showing the exact yardage for the top, center, and bottom of each mill dot.

If this calculation is possible and I missed it, your help would be appreciated. If not possible now, then perhaps in your next version it could be added.

There currently isn’t a function to do this directly, but it’s a good thing to add in for the next version!

Basically you could calculate it by moving your Target distance until you see a X” high at 100 yards value. I know that’s mildly tedious. It would be easy to add in to the next version of PointBlank though. Kind of interesting no-one has requested this feature before now, I can see how useful it would be in this case.

Thanks for the email

Laughing Thsi technique can also be used with the normal cross hair reticle. For example: If you use the post in the top of the field of view as your 100 yard zero, the cross hair would be (depending on your scope) 3.5 inches high at 100 yards, and the post at the bottom of the field of view would be 7" high at 100 yards.

inserting 3.5" high or 7" high @ 100 yards then using the ballistics program you would be able to determine at what yardage the bullet crosses the zero.

So, for a givin bullet weight, Ballistic Coefficient, Muzzle Velocity you would know that your rifle would zero at 100 yards using the upper post, zero at 250 yards (just an example), and the bottom post would be say , 375 yards. I hope this helps.
