This large male was harvested a few days later and is reported to have weighed 65lbs.

Ok, when does a coyote get big enough to be a wolf? Our coyotes in Texas are not near that big nor are their tails that bushy.

Biggest yote I shot here was 38 lbs. Dnr here confirmed that it was not mixed with the wolves yet.

ok I looked it up and they surely do cross with dogs or wolves.

All coyotes in this province have Eastern Wolf DNA. Only CF rifle caliber .25 or less and 12 guages #2 shot or better are legal for coyotes here. The exception is if you have a big or small game license you can use any rifle legal with that license during the applicable season. Not sure I want to shoot at one with a 22 short. We will see how my .223 does as soon as I can get away from the job/wife/in-laws/grand-kids.
