vintage2, just to emphasis what OV1 posted.

1. Click "Post Reply" ( do not use the Quick Reply at the bottom of the Topic)
2. below the green bar that says "Add an Attachment" , click the "Browse..." button to search for the file
3. left click the file you want to post to hightlight it (note, it must be a gif jpeg jpg png tga tif file)
4. select the "Add Attachment" button

That should do it. If you are still unsuccessful, you can send it to me in an email and I'll post it for you.

I think I have to do something apart from that to make the image come up.

let's see now....

....nope, that's it. Very Happy

How big is the image you're trying to post Vint2?
A lot of boards have a limit around 112k.

good point, English Mike. I the picture is too large, you will get a message in small print that tells you what the file size is limited to. vintage, you may have to use a photo program to reduce the file size, both in pixels and via compression. I'd suggest a pixel size between 800 and 1000 wide. If there are more pixels than that the image will be too wide to fit in the screen and it will drag the text with it.

The picture is only 184x325

The Nut will not accept .bmp pics Vint, and I believe the maximum size is 250kb (or it used to be). If your pic has a .bmp suffix ie, deer.bmp, then the easiest way to convert it to a .jpg (or .jpeg) format is to open the picture with Paint (part of Windows and usually found b y clicking START, ALL PROGRAMS then the Accessories button...you will see it listed under Accessories)...once open in Paint, click on FILE, click on SAVE AS, then when it opens the SAVE window click on the SAVE AS TYPE button under the file name and select jpg or jpeg...then save the pic. When you go to the BROWSE button on the POST REPLY window, select the newly saved .jpg pic. To confirm that you have the right pic, hover your mouse over the pic for a couple of seconds and it will bring up the file name...just make sure that is the .jpg file. You can also reduce the size of the pic using PAINT by opening the picture, clicking on IMAGE, Resize/Skew then changing the Horizontal and Vertical percentages to less than 100%...ensure both are the same eg, 65% and 65%. When you save the pic, ensure you save it as a .jpg file.

If the file (pic) is too large to post you can reduce it using a free program that you can download from the net called Prish Resizer: Prish Image Resizer . The download for Prish is NOT the big green download button...the actual download "button" is beneath the heading Resize Images using the Right-Click Menu. It gives you 4 different size options. This is the software I use.

Cheers, Vince
