I have a wildcat I had made I call the 257 long range ultravarmint. Thats 257 LUV for short. I have been trying to add this to the caliber database but when I try to save, it seems to be there but when I call for the new rifle, only the original database comes up to choose from. I'm using Excel from Office 2010 and when I use save, I get a standard excel work sheet. If I use save as" I get choices for the format but none that exactly matches the original file format. Is there a way to over come this? If not, is there a free spreadsheet editor that will let me get the job done? I want to get my new reloading data posted.----PJ

You are adding the new caliber to the calibers_user.slk file?

I havent heard of any issues with office 2010... SLK files have been around for a very very long time. I am concidering switching over to XML format though, the only issue is most users have no way to edit xml files, but most have editors that will read SLK files.

I finally ignored calling Point Blank up using the patcher and simply called for the program. It came up with my wild cat in the edited caliber file. I made a new rifle entry and added a couple of loads and saved it. Exited the program and restarted using the patcher. My wild cat and the loads are there. I added a couple more loads to check function and it works fine. The wild cat still doesn't show in the caliber file. How do you call for the caliber_user file?---PJ

Did you get the email I sent you? I sent you a working caliber_user file with your data.

You will want to use the "Xxxxxx_user" files for your user data otherwise the patcher will overwrite them with info from the website.

I have the calibers_user file you sent me. How do I use it? I can't find any way to access it in the program and the help file doesn't give any information on how to use it. I can easily edit the slk file but still don't know how to make use of it.---cz75lang

Just copy the user_calibers.slk file into your pointblank directory. If any ****_user.slk file exists, it is automatically loaded and its data integrated into the normal data.

If you delete the semi-colon it works just fine. I guess I should read the instructions closer. Thanks----PJ (cz75lang)

I had similar issues, one with a bullet and one with a powder. The bullets_user.slk file fixed the one with the bullet. However I still can't get the patcher to add the powder that i put in the powders_user.slk file. Any suggestions?

The patcher doesnt make any changes to the *_user.slk files. You edit those yourself with any spread sheet program like Excel or Open Office.

The patcher will however, make sure the normal component *.slk files are synced up with the server, overwriting any changes that have happened.

ok, sorry for this misunderstanding of how the program is configuered to work. I still cannot get it to recognize the powder i added. I created a file named powders_user.slk with one powder in it (w780). no semicolons in front of the line with the powder data. Is there something im supposed to do to get pointblank to recognize the "custom" powder. I did it exactly like the bullet i added and Pointblank found it.......
