Yea when I lived east of the cascades-I've seen it snow a couple of times on the 4th of july!Not much more than a dusting-but still hard to understand sometimes-Kinda like twisters,we have even had a couple of small ones here in the past few years!

That is a glacier pool just above Golden Lake adjacent to Broken Top. First lake you come to (if you know the trail) after over the pass from Green Lakes.

I've actually got a panoramic photo of that tree line with all of the landmarks ranged from 35yds to 645yds.A leupold rangefinder and a felt tip pen do wonderful things as well as sierra bullet drop charts tacked under the pan view.Coyotes so far have lasted about 20 seconds each!Takes time to get the window open!

That is certainly beautiful looking country mate. I would love to hunt that area on horseback. Are there many big cats there? It screams "big cat country" to me.

Naw Vince-not diesel....maybe a beer with his oats now and then!I spoke of the cost of diesel because that area where I go in the desert is between 180 miles and 350 miles from the home place-so it gets expensive to load the truck and horse trailer for a "pleasure ride""in the outback"of Oregon.Yes on the big kitties-the state trapper got one just at the tall tree linefence-about 700 yds as the crow flies from my window last year...in a coyote snare!A three legged female that had been sneaking under the fence to get a calf out of that large pasture on the right of the photo.Another was killed by a deer hunter back behind that tree line about 1/2 mile more-so yes,cats are around!BTW-snowed another 4" again last night!
