Yeah, turkey huntin'. It won't be long before the early southern US seasons open. I think some open in March. Our season, here in the mid-west, opens in late April. From what I read, most states have a huntable population of the wild birds. They are good eating and are quite wary, not easy to put your tag on Very Happy ...... Can you tell that I'm prayin' for a short winter ? Hope you have a fun turkey hunt this year,

I just got my draw results yesterday for the Utah Turkey Draw ... unsuccessful again. My brother drew last year, my dad for the past 3 years. I'm very unluckyt at this.

Good news is populations out here are booming and there is a hope in a few years for tags to be "over the counter".

I think they planted the retarded ones out here in Utah then... they are stupider than a Grouse. I've got alot of pictures with me walking up to within 20 feet of the silly things. Usually see around 30-50 a day near our cabin.

Here in AZ they are harder than just about anything to find during the open season. But I guess that just the way it is with any big game animal Very Happy . I chased some this last year while I was out scouting for my elk hunt. They were a White and Gray color never seen any like that before. Anybody know what species they might have been?

Howdy. when you guys hunt turkey do you use rifle or shotgun i dont know other state laws but here in MD, spring is shotgun only and the fall season we can use either. Usually in the fall i carry both 12 gauge and 22 mag.

Turkey hunting opens the 8th of April in our state. My wife and I both got drawn this year, so if we get lucky, we will be eating a nice juicy turkey on the grill this summer.

sdhunter8, Howdy

Welcome to the forums! Very Happy Enjoy your stay.

Here in Ontario you need to do a course and pass a test before you can even get a turkey license Smile I got mine last saturday myself Smile

No drawing for tags though you can buy up to 2 for 35$ each if I remember correctly. Very Happy

Dimitri
