I could write scripts for soap operas this week.
My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday - a real nice day with Dad quite alert even with his Alzheimer's .
Bugger me he died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday night with Mum at his side and two of my siblings present - I'm gonna miss my dad he was a good man.
It wa then my birthday on Tuesday - a bittersweet day in a lot of respects . Today - Saturday here in NZ my younger son has his wedding here in Palmerston North - woohoo it's a big happy family day - final chapter is Dads funeral in Whangarei next Wednesday - told you all it was worthy of a soap opera.
Apart from that it's all good ......
Radar.

Radar,
My condolences and congratulations, that sound right?
Welcome to middle age.
Life is a "funny" thing at times.
Enjoy your birthday as hard as that is at the moment and enjoy your sons wedding.
I wish you and the family well, and a reasonably uneventful future.
Cheers

Radar,
At least there is some good mixed in with the bad. Keep up the good stuff and when all else fails there is always recoil therapy.

I like peacefully..
I am sorry for your loss Radar, the fact that you have your birthday afterwards (Happy Birthday), and the wedding of his grandson (congratulations) is proof that his legacy lives on.

Yes very soapy and quite the circle of life all condensed into a very short span of time. I hope it wasn't too hard on everyone, best wishes to all. Yes go out into the wild and nature will cure all aspects....but bring some brandy...

Wow.
I am sad that you lost your Dad, but happy for him that he passed peaceably in his sleep. I think when you know your time is short that is what you pray for, I know I do. I am certain you will miss him and will remember him often. May God bless and keep him.
And yet life goes on, Happy Birthday ya old Kiwi, and congratulations to your son on his nuptials.

Very sorry for your loss. My Dad's gone almost two years now and I don't think there is a day that goes by that he's not thought of.
