That’s what I call bedded mate. What is the epoxy material you use for the bedding mate?

Thank you Vince! My favorite bedding compound is Marine Tex Gray...

After filling the action and recoil lug recess, I also bedded 3" of the barrel channel, since it is under the straight shank section of the barrel. This will keep any undue stress off of the action itself...

I should be able to have everything finished and the scope mounted sometime this weekend. There is over a pound of steel in the scope base and rings, and I should be able to lock everything down rock solid! I always install the scope base to the action before bedding the action to a stock. All 4 base screws were torqued to 80 inch pounds, and I also epoxy bedded the base to the action...

I have also adjusted the trigger to the customer specified 10 ounces, and it breaks very consistent from pull to pull...

If everything goes according to plan, the next pictures should be of a completed rifle. After that, the only thing left is to finish chambering the hand die and bullet seating die...

Stay tuned for the conclusion of this build...

That’s a lot of excess goo...do you mill it down after it sets?

Hunter Joe 21 - after the bedding compound was fully cured, I chiseled and filed it to contour with the stock...

Elvis - before the day is out, I will have pictures of the build posted, so have your bibs ready!

DS...that is absolutely magnificent mate and well up to and maybe even beyond your usual standard of workmanship.

I’ve beaten Elvis in and have pretty much drooled enough for both of us I reckon. Your customer should be over the moon with your build of his rifle. I’ll be looking forward to the range report if you do one mate.

great stuff, surperb craftmanship as always,I wasnt asleep I was fishing with my nearest and dearest.
the finished product looks awesome and Im sure it will shoot as well as it looks....do we get a range report???? surely you will try it out before you hand it over??? not that its needed,I could probably do it from here, just get 30 cal projectile and poke ragged hole in cenre of bullseye as Im sure thats what a group will end up looking like anyway.
