There is a change of thought starting to happen in German and English medical reasearch halls along the lines that EVERYONE will be exposed to this disease and it is now ENDEMIC throughout the population and we should stop testing and "worrying" about the big numbers of those who have this virus and instead start focusing on those who are SICK with the virus.
As the numbers of the vaccinated increase the numbers of those being sick enough to be admitted to hospital or ICU drops, but the virus is stil out and about.
Concentrate on those who are sick.
This is probably due to we cant beat it, we'll just gave to learn to live with it like influenza.
So how long until the relative governments start down this path?
Im thinking that would depend on the vaccination rate of the population and the capacity and robustness of your areas medical system.
My call would be 6 months for oz and nz, with an election sometime in the 12 months after all restrictions are dropped.
I really must work on my level of cynicism......

Interesting thoughts Pete. I agree totally that we will never eradicate this virus, and will simply have to learn to live with it. No doubt they will develop a better vaccine in the future, but who knows.
Nothing wrong with your cynicism levels mate…they are born from experience, as are mine.

One or two here and there. Mostly those that go to
Springfield often. Don't hear too much about covid around here. Those that go to Wallmart are divided 50/50 wearing masks and not wearing masks.

How's everyone's state/province doing with the smallpox? Oh yeah, that's right. The vaccination worked. Infect a person with cowpox and you are inoculated against smallpox.
Come on guys and gals. For a moment, forget the politics; and reason for yourself, that vaccinations are not 100% effective but contracting a disease from not getting vaccinated is a hell of a lot closer to being 100%. Essentially, the vaccinations is doing the same thing that the treatment for malaria does. It lessens the effects of having malaria. It does not prevent you from contracting the disease it only controls the symptoms. This fourth wave is upon us here in North America. Out west the ICU is filled with young people. Young and dumb.

There is no legitimate reason except under very very very few cases to not get the vaccination. Less that 1/10%. I am tired of hearing of my friends and colleges getting sick and dying. The Fu%kery of people spewing disinformation is obscene. People are losing their jobs both in Canada and the US for exactly this reason and rightly so.

ITD, how do you know what is disinformation? I don't believe the WHO or our CDC. Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine does work and has saved thousands around the world but these drugs don't make money for big pharmaceuticals. Why should a young healthy individual get a vaccine when they likely can survive the illness? Their subsequent natural natural immunity is more powerful than the vaccines. Did you know that the Red Cross can't use blood from vaccinated individuals to make the antibody serum that is helping folks recover quickly from COVID? The vaccines have proven they don't prevent COVID contraction or transmission. If vaccinated individuals can transmit the virus, what logic is there in mandates that people have to be vaccinated to work or travel? The burden on the hospitals is made worse because healthcare workers that will not get vaccinated were forced to leave. The hospitals have more beds but they are empty because they cannot be staffed.

Slim...You are aware that Ivermectin is a de-wormer for horses. Right?

Ivermectin has been used on humans for quite a while, by prescription from a medical Doctor. Its a treatment for parasitic roundworm infections like ascariasis, head lice and rosacea.
A company won a nobel prize not long ago for research into uses in Humans.
It is mostly used as a horse dewormer, but it has alot of uses in humans.
