Marsha Brady....50 ?!?! Wasn't she the cute young girl in the Brady Bunch?

Oh, now I do feel old.

Oh well, as Dad used to say..."You're only as old as you feel, and not old till ya stop feelin'." Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Cheers, Vince

That is a good point , Vince! I told my kids to never grow up and try to lead the way, but some days it gets ridiculous and my grandkids tell me I am silly!!! Is this the start of a second childhood?!?!?!?!? Laughing

To my five granddaughters and one grandson I'm the wierd grandpa with horses. Being young myself I have no problem convincing them to come an visit. I'm sure their parents are glad to get rid of them for a while too.

This year I have two of them (10 and 13) for the summer. Horses and guns are the POD (Plan of the Day).

Bushmaster that sounds like a wonderful way to spend a summer!! Don't know if my grand kids could stand it!! I am not quite as easy as their parents.!! I don't have horses, but could spend lots of time on the firing range and in the woods, or fishing Smile

One of my granddaughters is 15 and an accomplished shot gunner. She hunts ducks and geese with her dad. She's not bad with a handgun either. The 10 year old will have her first stint with gun training and the 13 year old will continue her training. Not to mention the riding lessons and ground rules for horses. I should have that foal on the ground by then too...

All sounds great to me!! Start 'em young asnd bring 'em up right!!! My grandson is a natural athlete with fantastic balance and hand eye coordination. I have never seen any one pick up shooting as eay as he has. I think if he works at it he can be a crack shot with anything.
Anyway, sounds like you are in for a great summer, and I envy you all that time with the grandkids. Not really envy, just wish I could it with mine, but business just won't allow it!! Smile

Man I wish my grandparents were more like you guys. Never got to know my grandpa on my dad's side that well but what I did I would've loved to have spent more time. As for my mom's parents spent time with them a few summers but never did much beyond watching TV. Those kids will have some of the best memories that a person can ever have. The one trip with my mom's dad to Burney Falls is something that I still charish.
So I don't know if kids my age say it enough but great job in the Grandfather department.

Vint2...It does help if you are retired as I am...Though I seem to work harder now then I did when I was under harness.

rdncktink...My memory of my grand parents was just my grandmother and the homested south of Salem, Oregon. She was old then (one of the last to leave Independence Missouri by wagon train on the Oregon Trail)...

And then, of course, I have to admit that they all have their personal schedules, too. As for retirement, I think I did that about 15 years ago!! My wife says I don't know how to quit, but I am doing what I want and enjoy, so is that not retirement???? Laughing

You know, I think that we should have big old powwow somewhere to get all the members together face to face, as much as possible!!! The more I get involved in the discussion, the more interested I am in meeting the people involved Smile

I know that some other on-line groups have done meets. They have several of them. An online game that a friend of mine does has a meet every year in England and is planing one here in the states. It's not that bad of an idea. Just need several not just one.
Very Happy
