I was at the local used gun shop and came across an old set of RCBS dies stamped "BAR 300 Win Mag". Does anyone know what the "BAR" means? No one working at the shop had even noticed the markings, so they were as clueless as I was.

I have ordered a 300 Win Mag barrel for the T/C Encore. Will these dies work for reloading?

I suspect that they are an early version of what RCBS currently lists as "small base" dies manufactured for reloading ammo for automatic weapons.

Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated.

That's exactly what I thought, which is why I thought they may be small base dies.

I e-mailed RCBS the same question late on Friday, hopefully they'll get back with me early next week.

I sent them an e-mail on a different subject 1 1/2 weeks ago and have yet to receive a response.

Got an e-mail from RCBS and they are indeed small base dies.
