Another Question, I own a H&R 22-250 Handi-rifle. It is a great gun, Single shot type, But it seems like every time I fire the weapon, it unlocks Mad Throwning the round off target, It's new and has had about 80 rounds fired through it.
A friend of mine sent his 22-250 back to the factory for the same problem and it has not come back as of today. Anybody know how to stop this problem,Other than the obvious, Get another rifle Very Happy
H&R has a two year warranty, But I am not happy about having to send the rifle off for ?Repairs? Any experience with H&R service? Information welcomed. I know this group can figure out an at home repair for this great shooting rifle..........
Any help IS appreciated.

I have read about a couple of problems that they are having with their rifles. I don't have any personal experience with them, so I can't really help you out.

If its still under warranty send it back for repairs. My experience with any sort of problem is that it won't get better on its own...only get worse. If they have provided a defective sub standard product then they must correct the problem. How much longer before an annoying problem becomes a SAFETY problem?!?!?!

Cheers, Vince

Don't want to sound like a SA but you said "its a great gun" and "everytime I fire the weapon it unlocks".......that does not make sense. It cannot be both. Send the gun back before something bad happens.

torasperry, take a look at www.go2gbo.com they have a form about the NEF/H&R Rifles. The unlock problem you are having is quite common. They have a FAQ that discusses the cures.

I had the same problem , returned it to H&R and they stated they put a new locking spring in it, I have not had any problems with it since. I had the rifle back in 10 days. The only cost to me was the shipping and insurance when I sent it back. Cool
