I just heard a little more of the history of this rifle. My father-in-law ( which is part Indian) was saying the story he got from his Dad was that he traded an Indian a jug of whiskey and some other things for this gun. They lived in Charlevoix, Mi. Please!! No Offence intended.

Buy a Marlin from Big Blue and give him that instead he won't know the difference.

My first mistake was I told him what it was worth. He guessed maybe about $500. or so. I should have offered him $1,000. took it off his hands.

[quote="glockman55"]My Brother-in-Law was showing me the gun he got passed down to him from his Dad,(My Father-in-Law). Win. Octagon barrel, lever action 45-70 cal. date on it 1885. I think it is a Mod. 1886. The 1885 is a single shot. What a sweet rifle, this thing is in great condition. He has an old box of ammo with it too, with one shell missing. Man would I love to get my hands on this. I married the oldest daughter, what gives? He said I could come and get it any time I want to clean it up and maybe Drool over it a little..LOL He doesn't shoot or hunt. Damn!!!
This is some numbers I wrote down..

Is there any way I can retrieve these pics?? |
Looks like they were uploaded to the www.michigan-sportsman.com website then linked to here. You would have to ask them I guess but its doubtful they would have them.
This is one reason its a good idea to upload pictures here, website server space isnt an issue so I never delete anything.
