I have been shoppping at one gun shop for almost 40 years and have always done very well in many, many transactions. They had a lovely 870 Wingmaster on the rack and I bought it cheap. I took the shotgun to my girlfirends house nearby for a thorough cleaning. When the action pins were removed and the trigger group withdrawn from the receiver, small parts fell out of the action. These parts should be staked in place. The action bars and forend came out along with the bolt and the bolt carrier.

I put the shotgun back together and returned it to the gun shop for a full refund. The shop manager apologized and did not hassle me. These things happen and our relationship is in tact. It pays to be a frequent customer and deal with a reputable gun shop. Take care...

What??? Your girlfriend lets you take apart and clean guns at her house? Next you'll tell us she hunts and likes guns. Wait a minute, girlfriend... thats different than a wife. Never mind.

Well you definitly got me beat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I owned a Browning A-5 Sweet Sixteen for less than 24 hrs.
Bought it at a gun show on Saturday, got it home and discovered it was one of the eary ones with a 2 9/16 chamber.
Took it back to the show the next morning and traded for a rifle.

mikeleduc,
Yes, I can clean guns at her house and she has a CCW permit. Last Christmas, I bought a Smith & Wesson Model 36 2-inch .38 Special as her carry gun. She wants me to set up a reloading area in her family room. Finally, she just bought a 25-gun safe and belongs to my gun club too. Take care...

Wait till she says "I do" Joe, hold your breath, and then see what happens.

I was lucky. Many of my friends were not.

Good luck partner. Very Happy Very Happy

Yep..."I do" usually translates as "You don't!"

But like Elyboy, I'm one of those lucky ones...wife buys me guns.

*cackle* My wife does all the bill paying , and is forever trying to find me more "gun" money Smile So far I have a Budget of around 1400$ every month for "toys" it fluctuates to more sometimes and , and sometimes a bit less , but mostly around same amount , she loves guns, game , and shooting Smile I got lucky with mine as well , most of my friends wives , hate shooting , hunting and anything related , except for fishing Wink

Update. The gun shop had their 'smith work on the Remingtonn 870 I used to briefly own. The gun shop staff said the gunsmith had to do some work and replaced a number of parts. The gun is back on the used gun rack and seems better. I have a lot of very nice 870 Wingmasters and do not regret taking that one back. Right next to it is a lovely 870 that I may pick up tomorrow cheap. Take care...

I purchased a Remington 1100 28 gauge some years back and made the mistake of showing my wife, Who at the very instant she seen it, claimed it for her own. I purchesed it to resell. Fat chance after that. Sad
