Well the time is finally here. 7 years of applying I finally drew a Utah Bookcliffs Mule deer tag. Its not a premium area, but one that supposedly holds a great many 22-24" wide 4x4 muleys with a few creeping up around the 34" mark and beyond. I of course want one of the latter

I'm headed out early tomorrow to give myself a couple days to scout before the season begins saturday morning. Hopefully we locate a shooter tomorrow night or friday... if not, well I'm prepared to stay there through the entire 9 day hunt. 7 years of trying to draw, I plan to dedicate alot of time in pursuit of a true trophy.

Dont burn the place down. Hopefully there wont be any problems here while I'm gone... making people register before posting will keep most of the riffraff out, and the rest can be handled by our terrific mods.

shrpshooterjoe and popgun will be handling the approval of any new pictures submitted so no-one will have to wait for my return before their picts get approved.

DallanC: My best wishes for your include getting your trophy on the last hour of the last day. All the things we discuss here come down to making the kill and IMO making the kill is the only definition of a successful hunt, while others are merely enjoyable.

LOL I email'd some picts to a guy who gave me pre-hunt advice and PM'd picts to 2 people on MM but words getting around about it, I havent made a general post on it there and doubt I will. That place is just sad lately.

Anyway the picts are uploaded into my photo-album here and I just need to type up the story. Its quite a long story, 80% of it just getting out to the hunting unit LOL! Sunday I unpacked the camper and winterrized it, yesterday we took it down and put it in storage and started storing gear I stacked on living room couch, today I spent a couple hours digging up parts to fix "the rest" of my atv trailer... then just a few min ago I finished fixing the last hub.

Got a couple more honey do's to take care of this evening, then make a run to my parents to return some coolers & gas cans I borrowed and drop off some picts. I'll try to do the story write up later tonight if all goes well... tomorrow at the latest.
