Think you will like those Hogues. I always resisted synthetic grips until I tried the Hogues...now all my 1911s and my son's P90 wear them.

There comfortable, they make the mag release a little harder to reach but nothing a extended release won't fix Very Happy

The factory GI sights are off I'm shooting to the left.It seems like a great .45 for the money I'm pretty pleased so far

Sounds like you have a good one! Congratulations and enjoy.

As for the sights, Brownells has a generous selection of sights that I'm sure you would like better than the G.I. copies. Some are "drop ins" while others require milling. The drop ins work just fine for general use and can be found that will work with your existing front. Some, however, will require you to change your front sight also. This really isn't all that hard if you choose the staked kind, but can get a little labor intensive if you cut a dove-tail for the front. I have done both and really see no difference in sight strength and stability as long as they are installed properly from the start.

Good luck and good shooting!

Well another 100 rounds this morning and doing fine no miss feeds or failures. Adjusted the GI sights and now I'm hitting were I aim Very Happy . Gonna stick with Novak and Chip McCormick mags they seem to be working fine.
