Well if you guys in Texas can have antalope having sex with jackrabbits. I guess we can have antlers on our does. wtf It does take a bit of string to keep them on though. And you should see the wrestling match just to hold them down for the tying... ROFL

We've got the jack rabbits, but no antalopes to finish off the cross. Unless your're talking about North Texas. These jack rabbits would have to run 70 mph for at least 8 hours to get up there, then they'd be too tired to catch an antalope to mate with her.

I've tried a few times to rattle in Mule's. Only once did I get a good response. Right behind me in the timber I had a buck snort at me and all I heard was him runnin off. He was supposed to come across the field and stand perfectly broadside at about 100 yards, I guess he didn't get the memo.... Shocked Laughing

I dare say...Definately a lack of communication...Mr Grant. Next time put up a yellow "sticky" on one of the trees behind you that says. "GO AROUND TO THE FRONT!!"

I've yet to pull the trigger on a buck. I've watched a few, but chose to let them grow up. Yesterday evening, I watched a small one (about 16 inch spread with an impressive tall rack) through the scope for about 15 minutes from the back porch. I've got a feeder set up, mainly for hogs, within shooting distance of the house. What I found that was funny is that deer are so used to normal ranch sounds that they basically ignore them. I was driving a steel post to brace a faucet by the chicken house and that steel on steel clanking noise, didn't faze him. He just ignored it and kept munching corn.

It's finally getting cold enough to get the deer to movng in this area. We've had several days where the temperature dropped into the high 30s for 3 or 4 hours, which is fairly cold for this country. I think we had 3 or 4 frosts, so far. Now don't you northerners tease me on this, but this is what we call winter. As I mentioned before in another post, the last time I saw snow was in 1984.

My son and I both filled deer tags last week end for the opener and I am now waiting for black powder to start on the 22cd. Very Happy

I'm beginning to wonder why I bought a license this year... Anybody know how to find a job that allows you to do things other than work and sleep?

I know exactly how you feel. Sad I bought a whitetail license for our 3 week season and had 2 days to fill my tag. The last 2, that's it! I went out the 2 days but all I found was does and small bucks that I thought were best left to grow up. I never did see a decent buck in the 2 days hunting. No Venison in this house this winter. Sad

Oh and here we are not able to hunt Sundays for big game either. Mad
