No so fast. The Romans used powdered lead on their food for a salt taste. How many Romans ya seen lately? Very Happy

tcknight - thanks for correcting me. I did mean from the use of lead bullets on game but you are right. The Romans used lots of lead including in the pottery which lead to contamination of their food and drink. Some contribute it to growing health issues with the Roman elite and the Empires ultimate downfall.

The effects of lead are more harmful to kids and adolescents than adults because they are still in their growing years!!!

So Bushy.......Tell us......Just how old were you when they invented gasoline??? Poke

This whole lead controversy thing in wild game is rather silly. We have been eating lead shot meat for hundreds of years and I have not heard of one case of lead posioning ever in my 65 years of living and hunting on this earth. There are many of us carring around lead that we have picked up in the various wars that can not be removedbecause of location and I do not know of one GI that has died of lead posioning and I did my twenty.

The bunny-huggers here think condors and such would rather eat lead over their normal fare. How they came to that conclusion is beyond me.
They also feel varmints left with lead in them get gobbled up by scavengers and this also causes issues. Yeh, lead dont pass right through or them anything.

Hey- where's TCnight at ??!!

Hell stovie...You guys in the USSR of C feed them condors. They are BIG birds that time has left behind. Their natural fare is long dead and extinct. So now the green weenies feed them dead domestic animals like cattle and hogs and YOU pay for it out of your taxes. And you wonder why the USSR of C is broke...

He has been dealing with some health issues.
I've tried to PM him a couple of times now with no response.
The last PM I got his wife had to help him with it. He seemed to be pretty positive and anxious to get back to the forum.
I do hope and pray he's alright !!!
