Anyone have experience using this laser beam for hunting at night? What's it like? Clint, have you?

don't take red, take green so it's visable during daytime too.
Don't use it on birds. Feathers seem to reflect the light and scare birds. Most game with hair is OK, they even stop when their eyes reflects.
Don't go for the one you show. Go for a strong green laserbeam with external adjustmentknobs, so you can add it to your rifle (or optics) anytime and just adjust by looking trough your normal aiming device.
Don't forget that in extreme colds batteries don't work as required.

and don't aim your beam at an airplane, they might attack!

Some review on other sites said Battery life is compromised in colder temeratures... like when you are predator hunting!

Cold temperatures drain the potential energy reserve of any battery, e.g., car, camera, flashlight, etc. Its one of our biggest challenges in aircraft deisgn. A battery that lasts for minutes at our normal temperatures lasts only seconds at -20 or -40 below.

I have been night hunting wild pigs over the last 5 months under deperadation so can us spot lights if needed. My delemia is that I need a good low power scope, with long eye reliefe for very short range shots in pure darkness (with a scope mounted red lensed spotlight, lit at the last second) but I would like to have really good light transmission for shooting in moonlight.

The 1-4x in 30mm tubes may be the way to go. Have you considered the Trijicon or Burris XTR? Both have lit reticles and can be shot both eyes open on 1x.
