Your right Suz, it looks like fun. Very Happy They are just starting to be a problem here in some areas and I can imagine down in Texas they are going to try every means to get rid of them.

There were some big hogsters in those clips! What amazed me is how effective the rifle was at knocking the pigs down. They did use AR-15s in .223. At the end, I thought they were using green lasers.

You're right, these piggys are sissys, not at all the wild boars I've ever seen. In our parts when your 1st shot doesn't kill him, he will fight till he completely runs out of blood and he's so clever that he would find a way to attack the heli! Smile

awesome. some of our kiwi guys could show them how it could be done better. personaly I would be using a .12ga with oo buckshot with some BBs for the little huas. DOC uses buckshot over here for pest control very efficently. I sure hope someone picks up all that lovely fat juicy pork... oh darn Im hungry AGAIN.....

Elvis, and how far ahead do you have to aim for a hit? I know a little about small game hunting, but then only the target is moving. I even tried crowhunting in the past out of a car, then the shooter is moving and the crow sits still or moves slowly. But now target AND shooter are moving. With a rifle on these short distances it might not matter, but with a shotgun??? It sure is a challenge and maybe great fun sure with such a russian Vepr-shotgun world.guns.ru/shotgun/...-12-e.html

Interesting point Aloysius, if you watch the movie again, you will see at just before the 4:00 mark, the red laser dot on the pig and it doesn't appear that he's leading or aiming ahead of his shot. Also just after the 4:05 mark, you can see a white dot on the pigs and even then it does not appear to be shooting ahead.

I noticed that too, the dots on the piggies. Man you'd have to be fast on the trigger!! Short distance relatively, so no need to lead, and I think the reason some of them fell so quickly is because (shooting from above) the bullets have to be hitting the spine or head. It wouldn't be easy to hit the spine from a ground position, but from the air it looks to be easy to spot at least.

Was also wondering about all the meat layin around, stinkin up the neighborhood. There was some farmers homes in view, naturally they were watchin the fun, I bet they had the pickup truck ready to rumble. Some of those were out in the sticks tho.

Elvis I think there were some feathers in your mouth, but I understood what you said. The chopper was matching the piggies speed. Bet it was fun to fly that thing too. The guy pulls up with his handy little helo in tow behind the pickup truck. I'll have to turn my boat in for one of those. Take a day trip over to the elk bedding grounds and lift me out a nice steak for dinner. Yeah I was gonna get one but the cost of gas.......you know....

The pigs out here are the same Aloys...they will fight to the bitter end...never give up.

You are right Suz...that looks like an awesome amount of fun...would love to have a go at it, but the cost would no doubt be prohibitive.

Some of the colloquialisms over here are a wee bit different to what you are used to in the US. When Elvis says "lead would be stuff all", what he is saying is the lead would be negligible...stuff all=very small, if any. Substitute a well known four letter word in place of the word "stuff" and it will become apparent what he is saying.

You guys talk funny....anybody ever tell you that? Elvis you have a way with words that's for sure. So if I said my ass is stuff all.....you'd know what I mean? It would be so different here. That would be like saying my pants were full and I might be better off sitting in a larger chair. I better stop right here.

Yup...to us you would be saying that you have a wee small little cutesy butt. Now if you said you are three pick handles across the butt, then I would definitely be looking for a much bigger chair for you to sit on. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
