Headed up a canyon in Utah on Utahs most dangerous highway yesterday evening. A UPS semi tractor-trailer coming towards us lost a tire heading right down our lane. I moved over to miss the tire, but just after the semi passed us his other tire blew (you can hear it if you crank the sound). Thats when it really got crazy in the rear view.

Tire debris, smoke... TONS of sparks... the trailer pulled the truck sideways into my lane behind me before he got it undercontrol and off on the shoulder back on his side of the road.

If we'd have been 4 seconds slower he'd have had the entire rig head-on right in my lane. Kindof crazy!

Seriously though - pleased you dodged a nasty accident.

WOW...that was close mate. Those wheels and tyres weigh heavy...would not have done you any favours if it hit your truck...would have been very nasty, especially as you say if it had happened a few seconds earlier.

Buy yourself a lottery ticket, although I think you have used up your luck for this week.

I know that road all too well. Glad to know everyone is safe.

I got one for our two vehicles after my dad had a hit and run, that they later tried to pin on him. I just figured if its someone else's fault I have proof. Occasionally I get something else neat like a deer or something running across the road in front of me.

Been a crazy time since this close call. 2 days later my son complained of stomach aches. I figured it was something he ate but during the day he felt worse and worse. Went to the Insta-care that evening to get him checked out. Their results were inconclusive so they sent us to the ER. ER did a MRI and found he had an appendicitis. It hadnt ruptured so they admitted him for the night and did surgery the next morning. It went well, he's recovering quickly.

Crazy times.

Well, that's something your son is not going to miss. Here we already had a case where steel shot had entered a man's appendix and that steel started rusting, making the man very ill.
So look at the bright side of it because this will only happen once in your boy's life.

good to hear your young fella is doing OK.... great that he told you he feeling ill and got the help he needed.

Gee mate...you must have walked on a Chinaman’s grave, although that is now two lucky “escapes”. I hope your boy is ok...appendicitis can be nasty and very painful. It’s surprising how quick and easy an appendectomy is these days...it used to be quite a big operation. Your young fella will bounce back in no time, nagging you to go hunting.
