I try to stay abreast of what's going on at the firearm manufacturers, sometimes not too successfully. Remington is a real puzzle to me at the moment. Okay, the 700 ADL model is gone now. I understand this is the 25th. and last year for the 700 Classic models. This has been a major disappointment to me since I've found that in recent years it was the only model that no one seemed to complain about. I have 3 of them and am delighted with the model. The 700BDL may or may not be gone. I'm not certain. It's been around for many years and is about due for phasing out.
So far Remington has introduced a single new model, a CDL which isn't a bad looking design, quite similar to the current BDL, but with a more subdued finish. I doubt that Remington is going to settle for a single new introduction. Does someone out there know something I don't? If so please share it with us. Where is Remington heading? Best wishes.

Howdy cal. I haven't heard many good things about rem rifles in the past few years a lota complaints about them. Hopefully they will improve. I always did like the 700 classic though. Maybe we will get lucky and they will bring back the 788 Laughing

Cal, I am not sure where Remmington is heading, I own a few 700 myself and one Custom shop 700 C-grade in 300 win mag. I don't understand dropping the classic 700 model. I think the SPS 700 will sell, they need to offer a Youth 700 or model 7 gun with a clip. There limited run guns sell. I am very glad they stop shipping model 700 with the bolt lock safety key gun lock, this gave inconsistent lock time, Remmington claim to fame. To bad the 1st year 700 CDL's have it, I picked up a limited run CDL in caliber 35 whelen last year. The new CDL's don't. It Will cost about $50 bucks to remove it.
