The Forest Lake Times visited our Pistol League a while back, and the article is in the paper and Internet sight www.forestlaketimes.com
You guys might want to see a little of what goes on around here.
Just get to the Times, and put the curser on Sports, then scroll down to see the ElyBoy at work.

Strong side shooting reminds me of the old pistol shooting methods that were used early last century with the transition of swords to pistols.

Great story! It's so nice to see a positive story about shooting in the press. Several years back one of our local paper's editors told a friend of mine that they would NEVER print anything positive about shooting sports. I haven't bought one since.

"almost considered a gun aficianado"? He!!, if you're not a gun aficiando in Forest Lake, wtf does it take to make the grade? Must be some serious gunners out your way Eric. Oh yeah, and charge Bushy for that autograph, you're headed for stardom now!

I finally got a breath to get back to HuntingNut for a couple of minutes.
Zach, Hope, and Judy are in the Play Oliver Twist, and I'm helping out.
Also next week, I'm overlapping with my 34th year Firearms Safety Class.
Not much time to do anything else.
I'm happy with the article.
I knew that a Reporter was coming, so I was ready to make the points that was made in the article. [Safety and Fun]
Over the years, I've had a lot of contact with the press, and long ago, I learned that dealing with the press, either in Politics, or something like this, you have to have to stay on your subject, and keep pounding them into the reporter's head, or you will get a press release that goes off subject, and bites you in the ass.
This guy did a good job, and yes, Forest Lake is a Guns and Hunting Town, so we have had lots of positive comments from the public on this article.
Aug.7th I'm starting a new league and only charging $25.00.
I'm trying something different.
I will have shooters shooting at different yardage, according to what I see as their ability to shoot.
It will be a good handicap system.
Myself and Julie will shoot 25yds offhand, and the other shooters will shoot at various closer ranges.
On paper, it looks good, but I will see how it works in actual practice.
If it goes well, I will use this system in next year's leagues.
