Wow winter came all at once

Had only the slightest traces of snow all year so far... until this morning. It started early and snowed hard all day... 14" or so on my driveway! I'd procrastinated putting the snowplow blade on my ATV so I had to bite the bullet and lay in the cold snow and bolt'er up. Once mounted I made quick work of the snow (amusingly my neighbors had all just finished shoveling theirs when I got my ATV fired up... I still took a trip up and down the street plowing sidewalks. Ski resorts reporting well over 2ft today.

Far from a record storm (we've had over 8ft in a single night in the mts before) but still a bunch. I fear the deer and elk are in for a tough tough winter.

Seems like one is never quite prepared for winter. Our first blow came Oct. 06 this year. 20" snow with 40 mph winds. Three days before pheasant opener. It wreaked havoc on the young birds as well as the humans. No power for days. Ready for winter now.--tr

Winter hit pretty hard here last night. This morning it was -15 degrees and windy 8O. Only got about 2 inches of snow though.

Howdy. We got our first snow monday night only 3 inches supppose to get more thursday night it would be nice to have a couple of inches on the ground, for saturdays hunt Very Happy

I wish it was like that here in Michigan Sad

We have some snow on the ground, light flurry at times, but all the dry bitter cold we usually get in the jan. feb. months.

An you guys think I'm crazy for hunting in hot weather with skeeters, nats, ticks, and snakes.... Won't catch me out in cold weather. Heck the 41 above degrees and rain kept me inside today Very Happy

I live in south Michigan, and we have more snow now than we ever had this early in along time,(8 or 10" on the ground) got cold real quick early too.
